Republicans Ask Trump To Repeal Obama’s LGBT Rights Order!
Republican lawmakers have finally asked President Trump to limit the protection rights that the LGBT community had, by which Obama’s era will be diminished significantly and the religious freedoms of the citizens will be once again restored.
As stated before, trump was once looking into signing an executive order that would end Obama’s orders prohibiting discrimination against gays and lesbians in the federal branches.
This order was never adopted nor carried out.
Now, a total of 51 members in House “request that you sign the draft executive order on religious liberty, as reported by numerous outlets on February 2, 2017, in order to protect millions of Americans whose religious freedom has been attacked or threatened over the last eight years.”
This letter was never aired to the public but was acquired by USATODAY.
At the time, Trump said the following “The executive order signed in 2014, which protects employees from anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination while working for federal contractors, will remain intact at the direction of President Donald J. Trump.”
However, a senior White House official confessed the religious liberties need to remain protected, which indicates Trump ought to sign this order.
Still, Trump trusts that every individual needs to feel free to express himself/herself, and by that, the order can be seen as skeptical.
Rep. Warren Davidson noted Obamas’ nonsense protections are violating the true believers and this order must be repealed. As an example, he mentioned the Catholic Charities, a structure that mediates adoptions and foster care but only to different-sex households.
“Fundamentally, to Christians, you can’t say ‘we’re going to protect your First Amendment rights and be the way they’ve always been.’ But now, to the Catholic church: ‘if you want to place a baby for adoption you have to also place them with same-sex couples’ and the church says ‘that’s an affront to our doctrine.’ You can’t have it both ways,” he pointed out.
Furthermore, Davidson stated Democrats need also be concerned by the practice of the religious liberty.
“It strikes me that broadly, in general, progressives have been pretty welcoming to Muslims and have been very upset with the president and his tone with Muslims. I think this could be something that could be seen as a way to reach out and say, ‘no, the First Amendment applies to everyone in America,’ ” Davidson said.
