Israel’s Tribute To The Orlando Shooting Shows Why They are America’s Finest Ally
The nation of Israel reminded us once again why it is one of America’s strongest allies Sunday evening, sending out a heartfelt tribute in honor of the victims from the Pulse Nightclub terrorist attack in Orlando less than 24 hours earlier.
As captured in the Facebook video below, the Israel City Hall in Tel Aviv was illuminated with images of the American flag, the Israeli flag, and a rainbow flag – the international symbol of the LGBT movement – in honor of the fact that the shooting took place at a gay nightclub.
Just watch as the American flag transforms:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed his condolences to those affected by the tragedy – the deadliest in American history since 9/11 – writing on Twitter:
Orlando is thousands of miles from Israel, but the tragedy there has deeply saddened me. We Israelis feel your pain as if it were our own.
— Benjamin Netanyahu (@netanyahu) June 12, 2016
At least 50 people were killed and 53 others injured after shooter Omar Mateen opened fire on the well-known nightclub in downtown Orlando.
The attack has since been classified as an act of terror, with ISIS taking responsibility for the shooting earlier Sunday afternoon.
