Hillary Clinton has ‘medical episode’ at 9/11 ceremony
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) – Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton left the 9/11 memorial events unexpectedly after what was being described as being overcome by the heat.
Rick Leventhal from Fox News reported that a witness saw her stumble off a curb and her knees buckled.
The witness says she was helped into a van and was taken from the event. Leventhal reported that she was “clearly having some type of medical episode”.
The Clinton campaign would not initially confirm Clinton’s location. After Clinton left the ceremony, the reporters following her on the campaign trail were prevented from leaving the media area for a period of time, according to Fox News.
Later, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill issued a statement saying, in part: “During the ceremony, she felt overheated so departed to go to her daughter’s apartment, and is feeling much better.”
Just before noon, Clinton walked out of her daughter’s New York City apartment, saying ‘I’m feeling great,’ before waving at the crowd.
Both Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton were at the observances for the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Neither candidate was expected to make public remarks. Both had agreed to refrain from campaigning today.
